City of Maize Initiates Ten-Year Grant Program for New Home Builders & Buyers

The City of Maize has initiated a Housing Grant

Program that will provide tax rebates for new

single-family homes located within the city.

Through this program, Maize wants to encourage

builders and new homebuyers to participate in the

City’s pursuit of a quality living environment for all.

On August 15, 2011, the Maize City Council approved

the 2011/2012 Housing Grant Program. The

application period for the grant is from August 15, 2011,

through December 31, 2012.

Through this program, a new home owner will receive

a 100% grant for all Maize taxes for three years,

80% grant the next three years and as outlined

in the table below for the outgoing years.

In addition to this great new grant program, the current utility incentive program for new homebuyers remains in effect. Based on the new home value utility credits of $2000, $4000, and $6000 are provided to new homebuyers.
